These person that I going to interview is Ms. Rosemary Mahoney she is a ESL teacher at Notre Dame High School.



Why you choose ESL as a career?



- Because I enjoying meeting people from different culture and learning about their countries.



What is the best experiences so far that you had as a teacher?



-Going trips with my students and helping students and helping students to feel happy in Canada.

Have you travel to other country for your career?

-Yes, I went to Europe and Mideast and then I work as a volunteer in Jamaica , but my firts teaching was in Mexico at least 3 times and I want to go to Asia.

How was your first class of teaching?

-It was challenging and difficult at the beginning , it was tired because I was teaching in a different school and the type of teaching was different so I learned to be adaptable.

What are your hobbies?

-I like to bake , painting, going to the gym, dancing , traveling , reading and learning new languages as well photography.

How many languages do you speak?

-3, English, Spanish and French.

When do you think is going to be the best time to retired?

-When I'm financially able.

What are you going to do after you retired?

-Traveling alot and expending time with my husband and kids, I have to do some art and some volunteering.

Were did you got the education for you career?

-I study at Trent University and Queen University, and Im studing my Master degree online.

What was the most challenging part when you were studing?

-Was working fulltime and studing full time.

tulip festival!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Canadian Tulip Festival its 55-year-old of history. In 2007, the Free International Pavilion were participaring 15 countrys featured by their Embassies . In 2008 they extend the Free International Pavilion to over 25 countries participating and featuring international entertainments.
Countries with Embassies and community groups participating include Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, European Union, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Thailand and Turkey.
For me the Tulip Festival was better these year because more countrys participate and was more a multiucultural event and also because of the enterteinments and the shows that each country represent.

Ballet Folkloric Aztlan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The members of the group Ballet Folkloric Aztlan received choreography's from the teachers Rebeca Llamas y Melchor Ruiz for the new choreography for the show "Mexico from North to South " the show is going to be presented Saturday June 21 at the Maison de la Culture en 855 Boulevard da la Gappe in Gatineau , Josue Nieto the director artist of the group said the he is really surprise and proud of the work of the group and each of the members of the Ballet. Also the purpose of this is to show more of the Mexican culture and their dances and also to show that Mexico is not only beautiful beaches or vocational centers that we have more culture and more things to show to the people and maybe people would like to learned more about it.

if I had 1,000,000 to change my school i do?

If I had 1,000,000 to change anything at Notre Dame High School I would change the washroom , like a hole renovation to it, may be more phys equipment and also more money to the ESL class like more books and dictionaries in most of different languages , also I will change the chairs and tables for the school of each classroom and the rest of the money I will used for what ever or what other equipment required any other class.

a person that I admire

A famous person that I admire is Gandhi because he freee India from the caste system and help India society as well to free India from the British, he also help people call the "untouchable", he change the name to Havidan clas.
He was the first person to attack the caste system, thanks to him the India's contitution made it illegal to consider a person to be untouchable and now those people have the opportunities do education and more employments.

my plans for the summer !!!!!!!!!!!!

My plants for the summer is expend more time with my family and friends and stay home, go out and visit places that I haven't go in ottawa and try to do new things and keep working hard, as well to prepared to the next year with positive attitude.
and maybe in the future i will like to go with my family or friends to Japan because is an amazing country and also because of there culture that I will like to learnd about it.

essay of two novels

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Great Expectations by Charles Dickens are two great novels they both have alot of similarities and differences.
Some of the similarities are they both are not the rich, they also are similar because they have the opportunity to married and fall in love with someone rich (Pride and Prejudie),in Great Expectations the situation was a little different he dind't married with someone rich, some decided to give him the opportunity to have an education and live inthe rich society.

These two novels are different in some many ways for example Pit the main character of Great Expectations , does fall in love but with the wrong person and everything he does is for her, if you compare that with Pride Prejudice , Elizabeth the main character she is a women that is not desperate to married or find mr. right , the only thing she wants is to marry because in love.

In conclusion they both are great novels but for my point of view Pride and Prejudice is more romantic novel compare to Great Expectations that ismore like life experience.

The food is Mexican the name of the plate is picaditas, it's made of corn dough you cook the corn dough, in the top of tha ''tortilla''(corn dough)you put in the salsa, sour cream, parmesan cheese and if you like onions.

This food is really special to me and my family because almost all the weekends my family and I go to my grandmas house to eat on breakfast, is important to us because all the family or most of the family is there in breakfast together and enjoying of the breakfast and our companie.

Book review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are a person how read a lot I recomend these book the age really dont matter , the name of the book is Cowboys Don´t Cry, these book is an interesting novel about a boy that has a lot of problems in his family, after the death of his mom his dad started to have drinking problems, he and his father started a new life when they move to Alberta, there is when all the drama started, with the help of new friends Shane tha main character started to find the way out of solving there problems between he and his father of course Shane has a lot of difficulties to get there.

Cowboys Don't Cry.

The teenage years can be a difficult and challenging time for many adolescents. In the novel Cowboys Don't Cry, the main character Shane faces many conflicts and problems that he overcomes. Shane deals with many conflicts such as character versus character, character versus nature and also character versus self. Through examining these conflicts the reader can see how the main character matures to become a better person and to grow up and develop himself, his ideas and thoughts, his feelings and how to control himself as well his emotions and feelings.

First of all, Shane faced many character versus character conflicts in the novel.
The first conflict he has is with his Dad after the death of his mom. As a result his Dad started losing himself, he became an alcoholic and also they started losing their communication. This apparent in this quotation when Josh said to Shane "I should've know better than to trust you with her horse'(Cowboys Don't Cry p.49).
Shane started be confused about his feelings to his Dad. On the other hand Josh started losing the communication to his son because he was afraid of Shane feelings. In addition Shane had another character versus character conflict with Bart. They started with wrong foot, they fight, however at the end they have something in common in their families problems , they finally solve their problems and differences by saying things directly and clearly and to each other when they don't have a fight and they share the trophy.

Secondly, Shane has many conflicts versus nature living on a ranch and dealing with animals. The main conflict he has is with Angel, when Angel got cut in it's leg because it get trapped in a barbed wire. As a result Shane has to face the fear of losing Angel and the trust of his Dad as you can noticed when Shane Dad said to him " I should've know better than to trust you with her horse", Shane have to take the consequently so his Dad is mad at him and Shane have to live with that, even though that happened jeff was there for Shane to not be so worried about it.

Thirdly, Shane has many conflict with himself.
the conflicts he has are about expressing his feelings when his mom die , he couldn't express his emotions because his Dad wasen't there for him and because "Cowboys Don't Cry"( Cowboys Don't Cry p.3). Also he knew that he still loving his Dad , like he said in the novel "I knew I still loved the guy who use to be my Dad"(p.6), however he hated the guy his Dad become , in addition he had problems with himself , when casey said to him that he expect a lot from people , that make shane to think if that is true or not, if he was expecting a lot from his Dad.
Futhermore Shane realized that he was blamed his father for his mom's death.(Cowboys Don't Cry p.105, 106)"you don't care about me . you don't care about yourself. The only person you ever really care about was mom and you k..")Finally that night Shane wasen't angry anymore.

In conclusion Shane is able to find himself to figure and to be able to control and show his feelings and emotions, to not expect a lot for people , as well to not run away from his problems. Alsohe is able to find his feelings and to clear his mind and forget the past and live the present, he finally learned that he never stop loving his Dad. As a result he finally knows his feelings and knows that things are going to be better

Both speak about ways of cooperation with latinamericans nacions, like Bolivia and Ecuador.

In a prense coferetion in Madrid, Lula and Rodríguez Zapatero promise to reforse the relation bilateral, specially in economic and comercial . They also are thinking of other Latin America countries to participat but one again they will be need Spain help and spanish managers.

ESL Trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the ESL class trip should be something fun , could be going to a park and play some sports or maybe going bowling, I thing the best way to enjoy a trip is doing something most of the students and teachers like and of course something fun and funny were everyone can enjoy of the company of each other , were every one can be more social or something were everyone can participate.

I will like as a student to go and do an activity were everyone participate and were we can know each other better and were we can be more in contac we the nature. Were we can play a lot specially some sports and enjoy of doing something together as a ESL class.

Computers are important tools in educatioo as well you need good wedsites . Specifically, Google, Youtube, and translations wedsites. These tools make education easier for students , teachers, and even people how work in companies ect and also I like to used them because you get better information and for easy and faster.

First of all, google is a wedsite were you can find every type of information that you need or want, it gives you the option to choose the source of information you need by probading from other wedsites. Google is important in everyday to a student and teacher ect; because help them to find what they need , these information help them to communicate because in the way it is explain or sometimes write.

Secondly, Youtube is another wedsite were people could find interesting and educational things because it show videos were shows an event, teachers can make a class more intersting by showing videos, students can do a presentation by showing videos so other students and the teacher undertand better the topic he or she is presenting, and these help the teacher and the student to comunicate better.

Thirdly the translations wedsites are very good sourceses to students and teachers to communicate because you cand find words that you don't understand or your teacher finding words to try to explain to you, these also help in your communication and for other people how work in companies and travel around the world.

In conclusion these wedsites are very helpful to students , teachers and people beacuse made things more easy to find and to understand and help in the way you communicate with others, thats why I like to use them.

For centuries her smile has fascinated and intrigued. And the real identity of the "Mona Lisa" in Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting has also been a mystery -- as art historians have wondered whether she could even have been the artist's mother, or his lover.
But German academics at the University of Heidelberg say they have cracked the code.
Armin Schlechter, a manuscript expert, discovered some notes scribbled in the margin of this book that once belonged to an acquaintance of da Vinci. These notes were made in an edition of letters by Cicero in October 1503 -- and say the artist was working on three paintings at the time, including a a portrait of Lisa del Giocondo.
"This is the earliest mention of the fact that Leonardo da Vinci painted a picture which portrays a certain woman called Lisa del Giocondo. People have guessed that he was working on this picture in 1503," says Armin Schlechter, manuscript expert.
The suggestion that Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo, a wealthy merchant from Florence, could be the smiling woman is nothing new. The painting -- which hangs in the Louvre in Paris -- is also known as "La Gioconda" which refers to her name but also means happy, or smiling, woman in Italian. Art experts, who have already dated the painting to the start of the sixteenth century, have described the Heidelberg discovery as a breakthrough. Schlechter actually found the notes two years ago and although they were printed in Heidelberg library's public catalogue, they hadn't received much attention until recently.
But while the Mona Lisa's identity may have been solved, the mystery behind that smile is unlikely to be cracked any time soon.

What to do after high school?, there are many options of what to do after high school one of them is travel if you want to take a break of school as well you can continue studying and at the same time workor or you can joing a volunteer program, volunteers is a realy good opportunity to improve yourself and help other people, you can help in shelter, if you like to volunteer this program volunteer is great and also you travel to a beautiful country.
Refugio Infantil Santa Monica (R.I.S.E) is a NON-PROFIT shelter for babies and children under the age of 14 who have been turned over to R.I.S.E. by DIF (Desarrollo Integral de la Familia), a Mexican government organization that is the legal representative for minors under the age of 14. DIF’S main objective is to reintegrate these children with their families, but this is not always possible. R.I.S.E. gives these children a safe and loving place to live because they have no other choice in their lives.Some of the children are only here temporarily while their problems are resolve and some times they have to stay in R.I.S.E.

I like to watch movies alot because they make me lauhgt, cry and when a watching a scary movie a jump jajajaja and I scared the person who is be side me jijijijijiiji.
on tuesday a went to watch a movie called P.S. I love you, this movie i liked alot because it was so romantic but at the same time was so funny, it make me cry so much jajajjajaja and i liked because the hole idea and the story was so beautiful and sad but it make you think about what you have and want, and make you think what is important and that you have to live every moment of you life and sometimes you have to stop making planes and act in that moment, that sometimes you lose something in your life that is so important that you stop doing what you like or you stop doing things, but the isn´t enough to stop living your life or doing things you like this movie make me think that sometimes a huhg or saying a love you can change everything.

secondly, the similarities between the novels is the conflict between family, they both don't live with their mothers, also they both live with their fathers, however, Shane has more problems with his Dad than Alex beacause Shane's Dad is an alcoholic. and is more irresponsable than Alex's Dad. Alex's Dad is a cameranman and has good job where as Shane's Dad is doing odd jobs.
Finally in society they both have problems with it, Alex faces new culture, language, and political unrest,martial law,and he's shot and separate from his Dad.Shane has conflicts with principal, bullies,and has an accident and is separate from his Dad.
In conclusion, the tow novels Cowboys Don't Cry and Forbidden City share some differences and similarities about the struggles of teenagers to face challenges and mature. the novels show who both of the characters are different and live in diffirent situation but at the same time they both have something in commond, they both have some challenges to face in family and society and at the end of the books they both have so many difficult challenges and situation
that make them more mature and help them in their family as well in society.

some of the books i read in the past 6 monts are Cowboys Don't Cry and the Forbidden City both of this novels can be compared easily because they both describe stories of teenagers facing conflict and struggle. The similarities and differences between both books are the shown in the conflicts between the main characters and themself , their families, nature and society.In the novels Cowboys Don't Cry and Forbidden City, the similarities and are within the conflicts of the main characters with themself. In Cowboys Don't Cry the main character is Shane who is a kid with out confidence but he is really intelligent as well is Alex who is the main character of the Forbidden City. Alex at the begining of the novel he said he likes army history, like wars and guns etc.he likes action movies too and Shane he is a teenager who likes more horses and rodeo things,Shane lives in a Country side and Alex lives in Beijing.

How NDHS and Ottawa could help new ESL students

I think that Ottawa helps the immigrants very well but for the new students
like in NDHS and for others schools they should help them a little more. They
all ready help them but they should pay more attention to them and try to
introduce them to some people at the beginning. it is really hard trying to
make friends at the beginning.
but they do a really good job. for example for the ESL program the teacher
should introduce them to some student's, show them the school, may be special
fields trips to show them the country were they are living, read books about different
cultures.

my sister and I are studying at Notre Dame High school in Ottawa.
i like to eat mexican food of course but i like to eat chinese food too, i like every tipe of music
but i really don't like country music, like to watch movies alot and some of my goals in the future is to finish high school , learn japanese and go visit Japan.
